Lavoli Miller : Paiute Elder

Lavoli Miller is an elder of the Paiute Indians of Nevada. She actively teaches the language and other aspects of Paiute culture to the children of the Mohave reservation, and others in nearby Las Vegas. Another primary concern is preserving the burial grounds and other archaeological findings which involves working with the United States government. She discusses the challenges in what she choose to do.

Cindy Funkhouser

Cindy Funkhouser receives a neighborhood award in 2011 from The Bank of America for her contributions in revitalizing the downtown area of the city of Las Vegas NV. She, with two other women, founded First Friday, a free monthly event of visual and performing art in Las Vegas.
