In 2004 as President of the Culinary Union, the largest and most powerful union in the area, Geoconda oversaw the Culinary Training Unit and actively worked to improve working conditions and benefits for culinary union members. She was acclaimed  one of the most powerful women in Las Vegas in 2007.
