Judy Bayley: The First Lady of Gambling and First Lady of Charity

Judy’s taste for flair, fashion and the spotlight emerged during her early years.

She was a generous hostess who inherited a virtually bankrupt estate. She rose to the challenge of making the Hacienda successful from 1954-1971.

Judy could not say no to any animal or individual in distress. She sponsored many charity events and received awards and acclaim.

Hurricane Florence

Known as Hurricane Florence, she founded the first Rape Crisis Center. She facilitated changes in the judicial laws and was instrumental in bringing the first women’s correctional facility in Southern Nevada. This facility will be named after Florence McClure.
