Las Vegas Centennial 2005 Projects

Exhibit of 100 Years of Influence Project

When Women of Diversity Productions relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1998, the focus was upon video production, seminars and special events to give visibility to women’s roles in history and their achievements. In 2005 an extensive project, 100 YEARS OF INFLUENCE, THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN SHAPING THE FIRST HUNDRED YEARS OF LAS VEGAS, was exhibited at the Las Vegas Art Museum (March 15-May 22, 2006), components at the Sprint Corporate Atrium (May 23-September) and at various libraries in the area (through Jan. 12, 2007).

This exhibit consisted of three video kiosks, 23 women’s organization graphic histories, THE WALL OF WOMEN (256 women), the Women of Diversity Triad Tower (a six foot architectural ceramics art sculpture) and a juried art exhibition, entitled Essential Dimensions.

Women in the United States are not alone in their struggles for equality of situation and acceptance. In other countries, women are literally fighting for their lives and self-worth. Women of Diversity is dedicated to the achievement of equality and respect for women and ensuring that women live on as role models for everyone all over the world.

Women of Diversity is dedicated to provide a quality of life beyond the first tier of life: food, clothing and housing. Many non-profit organizations are providing this first tier, but few even think of the second tier – giving people a reason to live, enhancing the beauty of living and creating awareness of courage and unique contributions of women.
