The life of Sarah Winnemucca is portrayed by Alexandra Voorhess. Sarah Winnnemucca was an advocate for preserving the culture of her heritage, the Paiutes. She started a school to help the Paiutes save their language and be assimilated into the “white people’s culture”.She acted as interpreter in arbitrations and visited, then, President Rutherford Hayes to address the many wrongs against the Paiutes.
